FSU at 2026 NAEA Convention

FSU had another tremendous showing in Chicago for the 2026 National Art Education Association Conference! First, awards and honors were bestowed upon Ryan Shin (Distinguished Fellow), Gabbi Sue Roland (NAEA New Professional Award), Yiwen Wei (Southeastern Region Higher Educator of the Year), Marilyn Proctor-Givens (Florida Art Educator of the Year), Hannah Richardson (Indiana Art Educator of the Year), Debrah Sickler Voigt (featured book signing event), Minuette Floyd (elected NAEA’s Southeastern Region Vice President-Elect), FAEA (Website Award, Category III), Amber Ward (EEIG Outstanding Publication Award), Chris Omni (EEIG Outstanding Community Project Award), as well as Debi Barrett-Hayes, Minuette Floyd, and Stephen Newbold (who were all recognized as part of NAEA’s School for Art Leaders Class of 2025). Second, others with accepted presentations included (but were not limited to): Associate Dean – Sara Scott Shields, Departmental Chair – Rachel Fendler, Amber Ward, Ann Rowson Love, Christen Garcia, Marissa McClure Sweeny, Lark Keeler, Latonya Hicks, Kristi Oliver, Jaehan Bae, Yichien Cooper, Debrah Sickler-Voigt, Ryan Shin, Sunny Spillane, Emily Dellheim, Hsin Fang, Hung-Chi Chu, Hsiu-Chan Yang, Jung-Shan Sung, Yiwen Wei, Karen Hutzel, Stephen Newbold, Steve Willis, Mabel Morales, Chris Omni, Egda Claudio, Zahra Farooq, Danielle Henn, Minuette Floyd, Alexandra Allen, Adriane Pereira, Minki Jeon, Oksun Lee, Gulzhan Oralova, Debi Barrett-Hayes, Anthony Woodruff, and yours truly.
