FSU had another tremendous showing in Chicago for the 2026 National Art Education Association Conference! First, awards and honors were bestowed upon Ryan Shin (Distinguished Fellow), Gabbi Sue Roland (NAEA New Professional Award), Yiwen Wei (Southeastern Region Higher Educator of the Year), Marilyn Proctor-Givens (Florida Art Educator of the Year), Hannah Richardson (Indiana Art Educator of the Year), Debrah Sickler Voigt (featured book signing event), Minuette Floyd (elected NAEA’s Southeastern Region Vice President-Elect), FAEA (Website Award, Category III), Amber Ward (EEIG Outstanding Publication Award), Chris Omni (EEIG Outstanding Community Project Award), as well as Debi Barrett-Hayes, Minuette Floyd, and Stephen Newbold (who were all recognized as part of NAEA’s School for Art Leaders Class of 2025).
