Florida State University had an amazing showing at the recent annual Florida Art Education Association Conference in St. Petersburg last week. FSU Art Faculty, Carrie Ann Baade, was featured as a keynote speaker, while Dr. Rachel Fendler, Dr. Marilyn Proctor-Givens, Hung-Chi Chu, and Gabbi Sue Roland respectively received the Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Award, the Outstanding Art Educator of the Year Award, the Higher Education Individual Student Achievement Award, and the New Professional Award. Cassia Kite also won the Flamingo Award for her exhibited artwork. Presentations and Bazaar booths were accepted from FSU and FSUS Alumni, Faculty, and students including, but not limited to: Dr. Rachel Fendler, Dr. Christen Garcia, Latonya Hicks (current FAEA president), Karissa James, Dr. Laurie Hoppock, Kathleen Tracey, Dr. Marilyn Proctor-Givens, Joanna Davis-Lanum, Jennifer Wilkinson, Debi Barrett-Hayes, Gabbi Roland, Dr. Nicole Crane, Bonnie Bernau, Taylor Martins, Nada Izadi, Barb Davis, Jessica Sodano, Egda Claudio, Katharyn Jones, Allie Zieper, Devin Box, Amanda Anderson, Kayla Halsor, Danielle Horak, Isis de la Cruz, Nafesa Dixon, Sabrina Pingel-Bartholomay, Hung-Chi Chu, Dr. Sara Scott Shields, Michelle Hartsfield, Dr. Cindy Jesup, and yours truly.
