Recap of NAEA Convention: Florida State University Participation

Florida State University’s Department of Art Education had a great showing at this year’s Virtual National Art Education Association Conference. FSU faculty members (Sara Scott Shields, Ann Rowson Love, Pat Villeneuve, Amber Ward, Lisa Munson) and students (Danielle Henn, Egda Claudio, Stevie Newbold) all gave presentations. FSU Alumna Nicole Crane won the prestigious National Elementary Art Educator of the Year Award. I was proud to lead and co-lead two panel presentations, and serve as a panelist on two other sessions. (It was an honor to lead a session with Renee Sandell, and to work with Joni Acuff, Dana Carlisle Kletchka, Xiomara Romine, Debi Barrett-Hayes, Maria Cuzzocrea Burke, Cheryl Mravec, Deborah Gaston, Lucia Herrera, Lisa Stuart Whitehead, Jolie Day, Nicholas Leonard, Audrey Hudson, Heather Kaplan, and Lisa Munson on these panels.) Many FSU alumni presented as well, including, but not limited to: Alex Allen, Jaehan Bae, Susannah Brown, Zerric Clinton, Yichien Cooper, Nicole Crane, Elizabeth Delacruz, Ta Thongnopnua, Minuette Floyd, Karen Hutzel, Oksun Lee, Adriane Pereira, Marilyn Proctor-Givens, Ryan Shin, Deborah Sickler-Voigt, Yiwen Wei, and Steve Willis). FSU was well represented and the conference was great!
