Florida State University’s Department of Art Education had a wonderful presence at the recent Florida Art Education Association Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. FSU had an amazing showing at the Awards Ceremony where Dr. Sara Scott Shields was named Florida’s Higher Education Art Educator of the Year, FSU student (Danielle Henn) received the Student Achievement Award, and FSU alumna (Joanna Davis-Lanum) received the Art Educator of the Year Award. FSU and FSUS faculty gave presentations (led by Barbara Davis, Debi Barrett-Hayes, and Jeff Broome), as did FSU alumni (Nicole Crane, Chrissy Schebilski, Joanna Davis-Lanum, Amanda Karioth Thompson, Dr. Susannah Brown, Jessica Barthle, Bonnie Bernau and others.) Overall, FSU displayed their dedicated commitment to our state’s largest professional organization dedicated to art educators.
